Sibling Sunday

Gypsy Rose, originally uploaded by torri_g.

I don't actually have all that much new to tell about the girls today. Riding lessons, work, summer vacation and a few school things have been filling their week. So instead let's follow Miss Gypsy Rose's example and just have a lazy lay around Sunday! Everyone have a great day.

Feline, Furball and Feathers Friday

Gypsy Rose, originally uploaded by torri_g.

The first Feline and Furball Friday of 2010! I managed to get pictures of Mia, Trinity, and Gypsy Rose. After great deliberation I decided that the first of 2010 should be one of the felines. Oh and I didn't leave Angel out, she just is no where around for me to be able to find her.

I hope that everyone had a wonderful and safe holiday season, but in this house we are happy that normal routine is about to get going again.

If you want to play along with Feline, Furball and Feathers Friday just post your own entry and leave a link in comments by next Friday. See everyone again next week.

Feline, Furball, and Feather's Friday

Gypsy Rose, originally uploaded by torri_g.

I've been so busy this week I almost forgot about Feline Friday! Thank goodness I always have a ton of pictures in archive to pull from, because I think if I tried to take a photo of any of the animals today they would be nothing but huge blurs. This picture though was shot with my cell phone so not the best as far as quality but I love it because it show a happy Binky Sue with her girl Gypsy Rose.

I'm a little rushed here so just going to keep this short...if you want to join in and play along just post your own and leave a link in comments. Enjoy a wonderful weekend and hopefully I will get some time to post more this coming week.

Feline & Furball Friday

Angel and Gypsy Rose, originally uploaded by torri_g.

Angel and Gypsy both proved to be difficult to photograph this week. They didn't care how much time was spent playing with them, or petting them, they really just didn't want their pictures taken. Something that was very clear to me when I finally got the blurry pictures downloaded. I think next week I'm going with the dogs, and hopefully Miss Angel will not "talk" to them in advance.

This week Carly and her boys Dylan and Hendrix stopped by to say Hi. Also stopping by this week was Suzanne and Socksie. Socksie is trying to find a cool place to spend the day with the summer heat.

Feline and Furball Friday means time to grab those camera's and take some pictures of your fur or feather covered friends, share your stories in a post, and stop by and drop a link here. The time line is just any time before next Friday morning.

I hope that everyone has a great weekend, and that all the felines and furballs manage to find nice cool spots to spend their days.

Gypsy Rose Again

Gypsy, originally uploaded by torri_g.

Gypsy is back again for a turn at the Feline Friday posting. Why? Well, because of all of the pictures I shot of animals this week she of course has the best picture.

Gypsy has been spending more time out of Binky Sue's safe haven of a room this week, and I got to see a side of Gypsy that I just haven't seen. In true kitty cat form she was demanding of attention from others that are not her girl Binky Sue. There was even some purring going on, which of course ended as soon as it was pointed out to Gypsy. I guess she can't show the rest of us just how very happy she really is here yet.
We also discovered that just like Angel, she loves to tease those dogs. Her's is very simple though really, she just sits on the opposite side of the baby gate that is in for the back hallway. Unlike Angel who will slowly walk through a room and do a stop drop and roll move while meowing to get their attention for the chase that always happens. Or the ever wonderful touching of their toys that is sure to get them going.

It is Friday again and that means that it is time to stop over and visit Steve and Pickle and all of the great animals that stop by to visit. I hope that everyone has a great Friday.

Feline Friday

Gypsy Rose, originally uploaded by torri_g.

Getting new pictures of any of the animals is still a bit problematic here for me this week, so went into archives again for a picture to use. Other than having this picture on my side bar, I don't think that I ever used it for a post. Miss Gypsy Rose on her first night here in the house, and she immediately made it clear what she thought about me and the camera. She also made it clear that any cat of Binky Sue's would be the one to stick their tongue out at me on a regular basis. Since we are talking about Gypsy here today let's go over all of the changes since she first got here. She still has some great fears of spending to much time with people other than Binky Sue, but she get friendlier with each day. Gypsy seems to be enjoying spending time getting to know Angel, and likes to make it very clear to Angel that she will not be bullied. Spending time with the dogs on the other hand just isn't her thing though. She will stay in the same room with them as long as she has a human to hide beside. When she is out of Binky Sue's room we have to make sure to keep an eye on her because finding a spot to hide is still her first thought, but after she is out for a while she will start to roam and explore. She is bossy with Binky Sue just like any kitty cat should be, and we think that the most major of her fears of being hurt have gone away. Our only worry about her now is with a quickly up coming move having to be made is how will she deal with the change, but we will all do our best to help her through that one when the time gets here.

So it is time to head over and visit Steve and Pickle again this week and see all of the great animals that stop by over there. I hope that everyone has a great weekend.

A kitty conversation

IMG_5753, originally uploaded by torri_g.

Gypsy- So Angel tell me what in the world is with this lady and that thing that flashes bright light?

Angel- Oh don't worry you get used to it, and every week when she comes looking for you with it you will learn to mess with her and ruin her day with goofy antics.

Gypsy- Why does she do it every week if she knows we are going to ruin her great shots with goofy looking ones?

Angel- Well because on Friday she does a post about us animals, though for life of me I can't imagine why she would want to post pictures of those dog furballs.

Gypsy- Yeah those two scare me and I don't see spending a lot of time with them. So since we are back here and she has that flashy thing going give me some tips on how to ruin her shots.

Angel- Well right now off the top of my kitty head I would say if I sniff you then walk off that will pretty much get the job done.

Gypsy- Oh cool! I think you and I can be great friends because you are so smart.

Alright probably not exactly what the conversation would have been, but since I am convinced that Angel just goes out of her way to make shooting a good picture of her impossible, it is the conversation that I think would happen. The great news is that a real kitty break through happened in the back hallway last night. Angel and Gypsy hanging out in the same area and Angel cleaning Gypsy. There was no hissing, no smacking of paws, no fighting at all. We were all happy to see the two interacting with each other in such a great calm way, and yes I had lots of pictures ruined by the two doing things that just were not so cute.

It is Friday again and time to head over to visit Steve and Pickle and all of the great animals that stop by to visit them every week. If you want to play along all you have to do is post your own and leave a link in comments. I hope that everyone has a great Friday and relaxing weekend.

Gypsy Rose and her new places to hide

Gypsy Rose, originally uploaded by torri_g.

Well, since I didn't get any picture of birds like I was hoping to, I'm going with Miss Gypsy Rose and her new hiding spots...I mean bed and tower. Binky Sue has been down sizing her room and doing a college makeover and Gypsy Rose this week got a very pretty and super soft bed and a kitty condo tower. I think the only reason Gypsy likes them is because it is right now giving her new places to hide. I do have to report though that a break through has happened with Gypsy. She now runs towards the door, and on a couple of occasions she has taken four steps out the door and sat in the hallway. Alright so she has not sat for longer than maybe 30 seconds at any given time, but it is a HUGE deal. Take into account that when she came home here to live in February that she trembled when ever anyone other than Binky Sue got close, I was thrilled to see her run towards the door and venture out into the hallway, even if it had only been 5 seconds.
However with all of the major changes going on in Binky's room this week Gypsy is back in hiding. Mostly because of other people coming in the room to help with things. Let that door close and no one but Binky Sue and Gypsy in the room, and Miss Gypsy Rose is snuggled up on her girls lap watching endless videos on YouTube.

Alright it is Friday again and that means time to head on over to visit Steve and Pickle and all of the great animal friends that gather there. If you want to play along all you have to do is post your own and leave a link in comments. I hope that everyone has had a great week and that there is a very good weekend ahead for all of us.

All things Gypsy

Gypsy Rose, originally uploaded by torri_g.

Hmm...let's see where do I start with all things Gypsy? No where really, because Miss Gypsy still doesn't make many trips out of the room to the rest of the house. She will sit by the door waiting for Binky Sue to return to the room, but once the door is open she is off to her hiding spot till the door is closed again. It isn't that she doesn't trust the rest of the members of the house, she just could care less that we are here. We can get her carried out to the living room and she will tolerate sitting on the couch and low crawling to other spots in the house, but she just doesn't want to spend that much time out of her comfort zone. Things that have changed about Gypsy since she came into the house...she know sounds like a cat when she meows, not like the duck that she did sound like. She can chew and eat anything crunchy without pain, and actually chews it before swallowing. She doesn't flinch away every time someone other than Binky Sue tries to pet her. The biggest change? She jumps! She has truly become the cat that she always should have been allowed to be. She has even mastered the feline art of bugging her human while she is trying to sleep at night. While it still breaks my heart to think about what horrible things were done to Miss Gypsy, it is wonderful to see how quickly she has learned that she is loved by Binky Sue.

It is time to head over to visit Steve and Pickle and all of the wonderful animals that gather over there on Fridays. Remember if you want to play along all you have to do is post your own and leave a link in comments.
