Getting out

IMG_6633, originally uploaded by torri_g.

Yesterday Binky Sue, Army Guy and I got out of the house and headed out to Parker Canyon Lake. Lots of things to photograph out there so I have a couple of days worth of new pictures. Binky Sue located this tiny little horn toad for me, and then took several minutes trying to get me to see it. To bad her eyes didn't work as well while walking the trail so she could have missed tripping of the big rock. Don't worry though the only she hurt was her pride about not seeing the big rock that tripped over. Army Guy picked the flowers while he waited for Binky Sue and I to return from our adventure down the dirt and rock trail, so of course we had to get that in the picture too.
Thinking about maybe heading out again today and see if I can capture pictures of butterflies out in Huachuca Canyon to go with the tons of dragon fly pictures from yesterday.

I hope that everyone has a good Wednesday.

Please no pictures!

There will be no picture for tonights entry, mostly because I'm really sick of looking at picture right now. Alright so not sick as much as just tired and blurry eyed. We shot Sweetpea's senior portraits today, and will be heading back out to shot again tomorrow. The most amazing thing is going on with these portraits, at first look no one belives that it is Sweetpea. To say she looked beautiful doesn't even come close to describing her today. Hopefully we will have another good luck kind of day tomorrow. This time when we head out to the canyon area's I would really like to not start the day off with a bear wandering down into the area. Although it is kind of funny to see a group of Army Guys go running in the oppisite direction screaming like girls. I'm not sure what the picking up of rocks and sticks was going to do other than irratate the bears. Since I was driving I couldn't get a hold of my camera to take any pictures of the bears, and the brave guys sent them back running into the woods. I think the bears were more affraid of their crazy antics than anything else.

If we are lucky and get these outdoor pictures shot the way that I want, I should have senior portraits for everyone to see here in the next couple of days. Oh and I did download the pictures tonight because I thought we might have what I wanted done. But because of keeping watchful eye out for more bears the outdoor one's just are not good enough. I do have some indoor one's that are mind blowing though.

Anyway, enough of this ramble tonight. I hope that everyone had a good Tuesday and that tomorrow is another good day.

Great thing to have!

Great thing to have!, originally uploaded by torri_g.

My new and probably going to end up being my most favorite piece of computer related equipment...an external hard drive! Oh I'm so very happy! No more having to sit for what feels like days on end burning pictures to disks, no more complaining from my main hard drive in the tower about how much space I'm using. Oh and most importantly...no more having to try to find space the the million burnt cd's. I got started with transferring files last night and got 17 GB moved and am working on the remaining 16 GB this morning. If you are doing the math that is 33 GB total and is about a year and a half worth of pictures. Since I had already backed up all of these files by doing the major burning of cd's I debated moving the files to the hard drive, but figured what the heck a back for the back up is not such a bad plan. I have lost far to many pictures over the years and am a firm believer in there is no such thing as to many back ups of the files.

Alright enough of me and my geeky rambling. Since the subject is being talked about though I'll ask the question...Have you backed up your photo's lately? I hope that everyone has a great Tuesday, and hopefully later this week I will manage to get out an about taking some pictures of things not in my house.

A Look Back At 2008

Been busy doing end of year clean up. Which mean after the cleaning up of all thing holiday related, I try to sit and make sure that I have backed up all of my photo's of the year. This year has taken me a lot longer than most because of having done so many portraits, trips, wedding, and so very many just random things. I'm happy to say that everything is backed up and ready to enter 2009 and all of the pictures that I'm sure I will taking. Of course backing up means I'm taking time to look at the pictures, so I picked just a few of my favorite sights of this year for a slide show. I think tomorrow will be pictures of people, and then animals for Friday.

I hope that everyone had a good day today, and tomorrow I hope everyone stays safe with ringing in the new year.
