Simple Saturday

IMG_5574, originally uploaded by torri_g.

Still working with pictures that I have taken in and around the house. Good news is that I have ventured out of the house three times this week without my immobilizer brace. Bad news just one stupid mistake with my movements and I shot pain tearing through my knee again this week. Loud popping and clicking does not equal good things, but I really can not continue to "take it easy". Let's just face it people I'm a horrible patient, and I just don't see that changing any time real soon.

I'm hoping that sometime today Binky Sue will have her room back in order and that she will allow me to shot some pictures of the new more organized look. There is also the ever wonderful laundry that needs to be done, and some other cleaning. Wait, lots of other cleaning. I need to grab a notebook and make a list of all the movies that will be leaving the house and heading to my niece for her to enjoy watching with her baby boy. Looking through them in the box that they are in right now brought back memories of all the times certain movies were watched with my own girls. It is a Disney movie collection that is very large and instead of selling them I want to give them to my niece for her to be able to have same found memories of sitting and watching all of her little guys favorites over and over again.
Anyway, I hope that everyone has a great Saturday and that there is lots of time spent with those that you care about the most.

Keeping teenagers busy

IMG_5632, originally uploaded by torri_g.

When you wake up and realize that because of a huge storm the night before you have no cable television and no internet connection, and you have four teenage girls living in your house. You find your self having a bit of a panic attack about just how the day is going to go. Remember I can't drive right now because of the right knee and the immobilizer brace. The pool down the street has yet to open for the summer season, and well there just isn't all that much to do without someone driving some where. Ah, but thanks to Army Guy and his helping the Germany SGM with his big truck this weekend, I had a front patio full of things to do. We will just call it the 2009 extreme summer makeover to the living room. The modular shrunk was given to Army Guy for helping move so much other stuff over the weekend. Which made me very happy because I love it! Now Binky Sue, MiMi, Sweetpea, and Little Bug might not have been so happy with Army Guy because they ended up having to move a lot of stuff yesterday. Of course when you are moving stuff anyway, there should be some deep cleaning that goes on also. So floors were vacuumed, scrubbed, things were dusted and wiped down, and a few walls needed some attention to. The question of "Why?" was a big one yesterday, and I swear they all paid attention to the time because they knew that I had appointment at 1:30, which I don't any of them were willing to let me be late for. The moving and cleaning of everything took a lot longer than it probably would have if I could have done it myself, but they did a great job and by late afternoon the cable television and internet were repaired and running again. All my girls got kisses, candy, and a big thank you from me for all of their hard work. They may not have liked it very much but they did do a great job, even if Little Bug and Sweetpea got fired from mopping the floors. There is still a long list of things that I want to try to get done around here, and hopefully by sitting here giving my leg a break from the brace for a little bit I will be able to get those things done myself here today.
I hope that everyone has a great Thursday, even though I'm not real sure just where the week is flying by to.

Beware

IMG_1194, originally uploaded by torri_g.

The sign about says it all right now. My attack on the house continued till about 10:00 last night, and I'm proud to say that I finally got my desk put back together! Today will be a day of going through shredding, and filing of stuff. One of these years I will remember that if I do it on at least a monthly basis, the stack of papers I'm looking at won't be such a mountain. To bad the odds of that happening are just oh so very slim.

Since as I'm sitting here trying to type and my mind is moving quickly through a list of things to get done here, I will end with I hope everyone has a great Thursday!

Approach carefully!

Only in my head can a simple task like cleaning my desk turn into a full scale tear apart, scrub down, rearrange, deconstruct an entire room, and still have a desk to clean, happen.(Not real sure about that being a proper sentence but right now it will just have to do.) I'm debating stopping for the night, but I really would like to see my desk at least in a finally clean state before bed time tonight. It wouldn't take all that long since I'm just to the point of needing to put everything back in place.

This is probably just the start of this wild woman clean and purge that seems to come after the holidays are over. Just hope that the rest of the family can hang on for the ride of this. I have already heard the comments about "So what will we find here tomorrow Mom?" "Oh No! She is doing it again!" The list goes on and on but I will spare you all of them. It is full scale spring cleaning in January...I don't like waiting till the last minute to start working on it. So while visiting here the next couple of days just be careful because who knows what all will end up getting moved in this massive clean and organization spree that I'm on.

I hope that everyone has had a good Wednesday, and that visiting my blog didn't cause to much of a sneezing attack because boy is there some real dust in the air in this house tonight.

Just where is the maid?

Mess, originally uploaded by torri_g.

I can not believe that I'm actually going to post a picture of this here, but hey I'm willing to admit that I have a problem in my house. It is called my desk! Now don't go thinking that this is a problem created by just one person...oh we are far from that. As Mom I get a lot of help from my three girls with the messing up of this desk here. Every note that comes home from school, progress reports, permission slips, ordering information for the senior, various daily medicines for the youngest two, monthly medications for the dogs, an assortment of several things first aid related because having a Little Bug a.k.a. Crash living in this house means you always need to have an assortment of things readily on hand. My things on here would be the post it notes for making my lists, the spray bottle so that whenever there is an animal that needs to be reminded that being good is really a good thing, my water bottle because if it is left anywhere else in this house I swear the kids steal it from me, and my coffee cup because trying to start my day without the help of coffee just isn't a good thing. Sitting here playing with my Kodak camera this morning though I'm thinking that the maid needs to spend a little time on this desk though. After all it has been a couple months since it was cleaned. The really sad thing though is as soon as it is clean again, the girls seem to view it as a challenge to see how quickly they can get back to looking like it does currently. Maybe that is why the maid tends to just leave this piled mess alone.

I hope that everyone is having a good week, and I'm going to see if I can do something with this mess that is called my desk here today.
